about

"This series of covers are inspired by situations I had while traveling around Zimbabwe & Ethiopia.
In the streets of Addis Ababa, I had an immensely frightening, and thought provoking experience.
A man threw without any reason a big rock after me; trying to hit me in the back of my head - I guess for the kill.

A few minutes prior I had walked by him, briefly getting eye contact.
He was living off the side of the road - he had milk white eyes; slowly losing his sight.
I recon that we were about the same age, but these unbearable conditions made him look 20 years older.
I felt so bad for him, for this situation of not being able to see a doctor - for him and the millions I saw laying around at the sidewalk.

In front of luxury hotels, artisan cafes and shopping malls.
All these things I knew from “home”.
I was already in quite a bad place myself - coming from a bit of a traumatic experience.
But nothing could compare to the hopelessness he was facing.
The rock hit me a few cm from my head - I turned back looking directly into his blinding eyes.
I have never seen such hatred towards me, wanting the worst, even though there was no apparent reason for it.
I still think of this situation today overwhelmed with quistions.

The only answers I can come up with, is that I - in that moment got to represent all the unfairness, that exist in the world.
I might as well have been born in his situation.
But there I was dumbfounded by my experiences, still so privileged that I could catch a flight home; to safely, a warm bed and a fridge full of food."

lyrics

The past is the days we did not catch
The Truth is the things I did not ask
We build up a wall___ In brings of glass
I’m still the same___ behind this mask

I hope you are good
I’m fine for the most part
Did all I could
But we became ghosthearts
The passing light took us apart
I hope you are good
Though we became ghosthearts
The future is stitched __ in tangled threads
In twisted tongues ___ words left unsaid,
You went out to search__ what did you find,
I hope you’ll stay the same
Guess I’ll see you around
